Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here (ver 5) In memory of Michael David Winans Modified by Matt Winans This version is the one I play in memory of my brother, Michael David Winans who passed on Feb. 5th, 2009. It was his favorite song and he played this song himself quite often. This is my first tab, and is modified from version 4 with a lot of errors fixed. I replaced Solo 2 with the rhythm guitar because it's how I play the song and sounds decent. I would encourage others to do the same unless you are as pro at bending acoustic as David Gilmore. Key: h - hammer on p - pull off b - bend string up / - slide Intro: (Skip the first note EXCEPT on this repeat): Strum a few Times Strum a few Times e---------------------3-------------------3---| B---------------------3-------------------3---| G---------------------0-------0-----------0---| D-------------0--2----2----2-----2--0-----0---| * 2 A------0h2------------0-------------------2---| E---3-----------------x-------------------3---| (Skip the first note ONLY on this repeat): Strum a few Times Strum a few Times e---------------------3-------------------3---| B---------------------3-------------------3---| G---------------------0-------------------2---| D-------------0--2----2----2--0-----------2---| * 2 A------0h2------------0----------2--0-----0---| E---3-----------------x-------------------0---| Strum a few Times e-----------------3---| B-----------------3---| G-----------------0---| D-----------------0---| A---02p0------2--2---| E---------3-3-3--3---| (Guitar 1 continues to play intro behind Guitar 2s solo). So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue sky's from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
And how we found
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
